What if I never find anyone? What if I never get married? What if I have to wait forever? What if....What if....!! All the what if's can add up and leave you feeling down and out of peace about everything. As we see in 2 Timothy 1:7 the lord has not given us the spirit of fear 2 Timothy 1:7"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." Here are some pointers from Sarah Mallys book Before meeting Prince Charming on what to when fear come up!
1. Refuse to listen to lies the enemy tells you.
-Take wrong thoughts and replace with scripture
James 4:7"Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."
2. Remember you are in Spiritual War
-Use the weapons God has given
Ephesians 6:16"Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked."
3. Fear the Lord
-All other fears go away when you stay focused on living for the one who sees everything you do.
2 Kings 17:38-39"And the covenant that I have made with you ye shall not forget; neither shall ye fear other gods.But the LORD your God ye shall fear; and he shall deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies."
Proverbs 14:26"In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge."
4. Pay attention to the needs of those around you
1 John 4:18"There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love."
5. Meditate on specific verses that remind you to rest in the Lord
Philippians 4:6-7"Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God;And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."
6. Know that when you put your eyes on God there is no room for fear
Isaiah 26:3"Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee."
